Leaving: Easier Said Than Done

No one should judge Rihanna for going back to Chris Brown because leaving is not easy. The majority of girls that I have talked to have said that if their boyfriends ever slapped them around that they would leave him in a heart beat.* Domestic abuse runs much more deeper than physical beatings. The bruses might show in public but no one will ever know the mental damage done. That is why girls go back to their deadbeat boyfriends (or husbands). Domestic abuse includes manipulation that leaves a victim feeling g... I wouldn't be surprised if this is what Rihanna is feeling right now. I truely feel for her and I hope she realizes the damaged that she is doing to herself by staying with Chris Brown; however, this is a decision that only she can make and I wish her well.


*Note: I was one of the girls who used to say that I would leave if my boyfriend laid a finger on me. While I have never been physically abused by a boyfriend, I was subjected to emotional abuse. I was completely blind to what my boyfriend (now ex) was doing to me because I was so convinced that he was the love of my life. I also couldn't bring myself to break up with him because he was the most stable aspect of my life at the time. It was actually my mother who told me that he was being emotionally abusive because every ingle one of our conversations ended up in me bursting out into tears and me believing that I deserved it.
