I had the fortunate experience of attending the Monologos de Vagina, the Spanish-language version of the Vagina Monologues in Austin, TX this past weekend. What a refreshing twist on the original I saw in NY City, read by its author Eve Ensler, when it opened in 1998. I can't say it enough - where are all the ladies on late night TV? That's why your ratings suck Tonight Show - you have never considered 50 percent or more of the population and the jokes and interests she might be relate too. And, the funny White guy thing is so done. George Lopez and Chelsea Handler stole your audience Conan....it's not Jay Leno's fault. His show stinks too!

I love this program. I think it is so right on showing the difficulties that exist and sacrafices that need to be made when teens have a baby. I was surprised that there were no Latinas included in the 4 profiles of American teenagers. As the population with the highest teen pregnancy rate - i thought they'd be included. Was MTV sensitive in portraying a stereotype? Or negligent once again?

So, Latinita' role model Soledad O'brien just finished her new gig broadcasting Latinos in America stories on CNN, but the response has not been I think what this Cuban American expected. People were outraged at the choice of stories - the teen pregnancy, a gang-girl and I caught a few seconds of a piece on low-riders. Has anyone noticed yet that George Lopez is funnier than his late night host rivals!? I am near frowning when I watch Conan (excluding Triumph the Insult Dog skits), Jay or Letterman. Their monologues are snoozy and their skits are lame. Lopez is infusing his stand up in to his monologues and the effect is hilarious. For crying out loud - he is featuring a Chola make-over giving actresses like Sandra Bullock who appear on the show new drawn-in eyebrows with a sharpie!
