Talking about how science is all around us: has anyone been keeping up with the Winter Olympics?
I do at times feel disappointed when that's the only thing to watch, but once I start watching the coverage, I can't help but sit there enthralled. This weekend I had the privilege of attending the Biennial El Paso Conference for Women. Hosted by the city's Mayor, the two-day event offered a variety of workshops, seminars and informational tables aimed at empowering the female movers and shakers of El Paso.

A month ago, my little sister's car was totaled when a lady took a stop sign only a block away from our house. It was insane because I was home and she had just left then called me to tell me what happened. She was okay, though she did get x-rays to make sure her sore neck was fine,
